You Have TMD? I have the SOLUTION

Self-management (SM) programs are commonly used for initial treatment of patients with temporomandibular disorders (TMD). The programs described in the literature, however, vary widely with no consistency in terminology used, components of care or their definitions.

The primary aim of this lecture is to demonstrate an efficacious and pragmatic self-management program and accompanying protocols appropriate for treatment of patients with myogenous TMD.

Questions Every Dentist Should Ask Before Selling Their Practice Part II

Part I of this course focused on the macro trends facing the DSO industry and the various DSO models are available to dentists. Part II will explore in detail the economics of a DSO transaction and the technical points of transaction structures. Although DSO models vary, their approach to practice valuation is the same. After a baseline valuation is defined though, the many variables within a transaction structure can make something bad look good, and vice versa. Any dentist who is contemplating selling their practice to a DSO will benefit from understanding how the learning objectives within this course can help them prepare for a sale. In addition to the technical nuance of a practice valuation, this course will also examine some of the factors that will impact a doctor’s equity value after an initial sale. This course is designed to help dentists better understand how their practice will be valued, how different types of DSO equity may be valued, and the overall path to monetizing the success they have had in building their practice.

1980's Called. They Want Their Paper Checks Back! 👋

When I talked to my dentist, Dr. Kwon — an AACA member from Menlo Park, California — about managing his practice's finances, I was shocked. Coming from the world of financial technology, I couldn’t believe that in his thriving practice, with millions of dollars in annual collections, most financial tasks were still being done manually — a job I took on for a few months myself. It made me wonder about alternatives to the tens of hours spent every week on tasks like manually entering insurance payments, depositing paper checks, reconciling accounts, and sending out patient statements full of confusing billing codes. In this course, we’ll share how we automated insurance payment processing in Dr. Kwon’s office, freeing up 60 hours a month for his team, making cash-flow 4x faster, and significantly increasing collections. We’ll cover how software can streamline the AR and improve its accuracy and reliability.

Tax Savings and Employee Retention -- THIS IS A BIG DEAL!

Medical Incentive Advisors specializes in providing proven tax advisory services to educate, guide, and protect business owners. Comparable to the differences between a dental assistant, a hygienist, and a dentist/oral surgeon, the discussion of taxes can be applied through a bookkeeper, an accountant, or a tax strategist. Like a comprehensive dental treatment plan designed for each patient, is unique to them requires a multi-step process of assessment, correction, treatment, and care, Medical Incentive Advisors uses a multi-layered process in the strategy creation, implementation, and protection that is designed for the following benefits.

This course is designed to provide a higher level of understanding as to how the implementation of a well-planned tax strategy can:

1. reduce the practice tax burdens,

2. increase employer cash flow by $700-$800 per employee

3. increase employee retention and loyalty,

4. increase bottom-line profits,
